15 Quick Tips to Slow Down the Signs of Aging on Your Face

Did you know that your daily habits might be accelerating the appearance of aging signs on your face? 

If you don’t want to look like you’re 60 during your 40’s, take note of the following tips:

  1. Protect your skin from the sun by applying sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher.
  2. Wear sunglasses when you’re out in the sun to protect the delicate skin around your eyes.
  3. Stop smoking — it speeds up the aging of your skin.
  4. Be mindful of your repetitive facial expressions, as repeatedly contracting the same facial muscles for years can cause your facial lines to become permanent.
  5. Eat a healthy and well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
  6. Drink less alcohol as it can dehydrate and damage your skin.
  7. Gently cleanse your skin twice a day to remove sweat, makeup, and pollution build-up. Avoid using abrasive scrubs!
  8. Moisturize your skin to keep it smooth and hydrated.
  9. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated, too.
  10. Sleep eight hours a day to boost collagen production and make your skin glowing.
  11. Apply skin products containing antioxidants, like green tea and vitamins A, C, and E.
  12. Avoid tanning as it can damage the collagen and elastin on your skin, hence the appearance of wrinkles.
  13. Sleep on your back to avoid distorting your facial skin. You may also use silk pillowcases to lessen friction.
  14. Talk to your dermatologist about using retinoids, which can increase your skin’s collagen production and plump it up.
  15. Start your skincare routine early, as aging starts during your 20’s.
