There’s another reason why your plastic surgeon may refuse to operate on you: your WEIGHT.
Most plastic surgeons only offer surgery for people with a body mass index (BMI) of up to 30. If your BMI is beyond normal, you’ll find many plastic surgeons telling you to lose weight first, then turn you away without a second thought.
But while obese plastic surgery has its risks, I believe that your weight alone should NOT dictate your eligibility for surgery.
After all, not all overweight people have serious health conditions that might prevent them from getting plastic surgery.
Also, it is possible to have a high BMI while still being perfectly fit or healthy, such as in the following cases:
- You’re tall, so the BMI formula gives you a higher BMI because it squares the height’s value.
- You have a muscle mass, which contributes to your weight.
- Your genetics generated a higher BMI with no underlying health risks.
We accept patients with a BMI of up to 45 (and even beyond that) as long as they have obtained a clean bill of health.
That means undergoing some tests and evaluation…
But what’s all that when you can achieve your dream body without the need to lose weight, right?
